Summer must have: the slippers for him and for her

As suggested by the most celebrated dandy, the silhouette is shaped from the bottom. On the 21st of February, the day before Santoni opened its new flagshipstore in Milan, there was another interesting event: The presentation of the Autumn-Winter 2013/2014 Woman Collection.

Images of elaborate design, of bourgeois ambiences, self confident women and geometric inspirations. Sophisticated materials: leather, velvet, precious fabrics, crocodile. As well as the visionary of the sixties used as a magnifying glass working above the use of new shapes and the development of new lines.

Recently we were in Corridonia to visit the Santoni factory. During our tour, we saw something amazing. Santoni Boots

Summer has come to an end so it is time to open your closet and put on those nice Santoni winter shoes.

Almost all over the world, winters can be pretty cold and our feet need greater protection. Traditionally, this is provided by boots, especially by boots which extend 2-4 inches (5-10 cm) above the ankle. Boots can cover just the foot but some styles even cover the lower parts of the leg. Santoni has even made a medium high boot with a built in sock.

For making boots, same materials and techniques are used as when making normal shoes, the biggest difference is the sole. Most boots are made with a rubber sole to prevent slipping in the snow or on a wet surface.

For the winter of 2012/2013, Santoni made some magnificent boots for Santoni Classic line, Santoni Club and also Santoni Shabby Chic. With these boots, Santoni shows us how to bring creativity, craftsmanship & high quality together in just 1 shoe.

Santoni's new boutique in Shanghai

Santoni is still continuing its retail expansion towards the Far East, with a particular attention to China.

In 2011 Beijing, Guangzhou and Dong Guan paved the way through Asia to the Italian fashion interpreted by Santoni. In 2012 also other openings will follow in China and Far East.

In the lifestyle and neuralgic centre of Shanghai, from may 17th a new and important mono brand store will display the latest shoes collections by Santoni.

The set is the prestigious Rockbund Yi Feng, in the central Waitan Yan hub, core of the luxury in Shanghai, a century-old building showing in his facade all the romantic charm of its past. Spread over 5 floor with a total area of 30,000 square meters, has a modern soul and elegant design in the interior completely renovated in 2011. Santoni - The new logo

Very recently, something changed at Santoni. As some of you might have noticed at the Santoni website or the Online Boutique, the Santoni logo has a new look. After many years of good service, the old elegant and traditional logo can finally retire and the new logo enters in Santoni's corporate materials.

Of course the new logo is not completely different, it is just a revisiting of the old logo. With a design that is more contemporary, it is also more suitable for the women and junior collection. Two markets that are still growing each year.

Besides the new logo, Santoni also made some adjustments in de image of the advertisements. In the past, mostly it was all about the shoe. From now on, Santoni wants to show us a warmer image and more a (life)style instead of only the product.

This is all one of the steps that Santoni makes in the complete re-positioning of the brand. Very soon the Santoni Society logo will also get a make over. But untill then, please enjoy our classic logo.

Limited edition Leica camera by Santoni/IWC

In 2011 IWC organized an event for thier Portofino Collection. All leather straps for this collection are made by Santoni. The latest partnership of Santoni after AMG.


At this event, Leica launched a special edition camera. A limited edition of the X1 camera for the IWC watch company with special IWC "Santoni" leather and matching carrying strap. 


Production of this camera was limited to 50 pieces worldwide.

Santoni at PITTI IMMAGINE UOMO 81°

As always, Santoni was present at the 81st edition of the Pitti Uomo in Firenze. 

The contemporary experience of style is made of overturning rules, blending codes and drifting categories. Formal style softens while casual codes acquire an unexpected poise. Santoni's shoe care secrets

Santoni's seven secrets for keeping your shoes looking beautiful:


Every work of art is an expression of love, research and technique. Our shoes are authentic works of the shoemaker's art and like any valuable item should be treated with great care. By following just a few simple rules the technical and aesthetic qualities of your shoes can be conserved over time. Below there is valuable advice for the correct upkeep of your Santoni shoes:










After wearing, let your shoes air out. Help your shoes to keep their shape by using our shoe trees made exclusively of cedar wood. Clean your shoes without removing the shoe tree: this will assist you in cleaning them more thoroughly.

Treat the leather only with excellent quality leather care products. Creams with high wax content nourish the leather and slow down the ageing process. Never use water repellent products as they will damage the colour of the upper, as it has been aged by hand. Use the creams frequently and in small quantities, on just cleaned shoes.

The most appropriate creams are the ones that are closest to the colour of the upper, up to one tone lighter: never use a darker coloured cream. We recommend Santoni cream and polish. Your favorite Santoni store can advise you best.

The neutral polish should be used occasionally and for cleaning only: there is a risk of hardening the shoe leather, causing cracking. Use it on the sole and on consealed parts.

After carefully dusting the upper, appy the cream with a cloth and make sure to let it dry for a few minutes. You can then polish, using a brush with soft bristles (a horse hair brush is best), preferably with the shoe tree still inserted. We recommend testing the product on a consealed part of the shoe, such as the tongue.

For suede shoes or shoes with suede inserts, only rubber bristled brushes should be used: to remove any spots you can use fine (type 00) sandpaper, followed by the rubber bristled brush to push the nap back in the right direction. Warning: suede can lose colour when it comes into contact with liquids or solvents. Avoid immersing suede products or machine washing them. Clean any stains using a damp sponge, taking care not to spread the stain.

Never use self-polishers which are quick but quite damaging, nor iron bristles (which raise the nap excessively). Also it is best to never use direct heat to dry your shoes, as the leather can dry out and crack. Store your shoes out of direct sunlight. All leather parts of the shoe (sole and welts) should also be treated with creams, to ensure their greater durability. Use the original dust bags to transport the shoes when travelling. Avoid transporting polish during summer: the natural waxes become more fluid due to the heat and they may leak. A brush and a cotton cloth should suffice.


As these are products which have been aged by hand, there may be a slight difference in the colour tones between one shoe and the other; this is due to the fact that the leather does not always absorb the various steps of the ageing finish applied to the shoe in the same manner.
